Year of Planning Program

Work-Based Learning

How will the ADT ensure the academy implements a work-based learning (WBL) program that includes a full continuum of work-based learning experiences for students, including career awareness, career exploration, and career preparation?

Strategic Actions:

  • 1. Develop a WBL plan focusing on 9th and 10th grades with advisory board support and participation.

  • 2. Incorporate opportunities for students to explore career interests, develop skills, and build professional networks.

  • 3. Identify the process the academy will use to evaluate WBL impact.

  • 4. Determine if the academy will have a WBL coordinator.

  • 5. Define how stakeholders are involved in WBL activities.

  • 6. Determine how academy students provide feedback on WBL activities.

  • 7. Review NAF's Outcomes Driven Work-based Learning (ODWBL) approach.

Use the guiding questions to structure meeting agendas and facilitate a discussion aimed at developing the academy framework.
